Downsizing!

Personal events this weekend made me take another look at all the things I've accumulated.  While I have been happy with my quilt stash, I have decided to start downsizing it.  I'm working on books right now.  The score:  the pile I'm keeping so far is larger than the sell/donate pile!

I went through a box of 'new' notions that were left over from when I closed my shop and listed most of those things on Stashbuster Fling It All group for sale.  I listed a few books from my own collection.  Gosh, the books are like new.  Most have only been looked through a couple of times! Some I've had for quite a long time, years really, but are still like new--however, when pages start to yellow, you know it's been around awhile!

Of course, there are other things besides quilty things to downsize, too.  Seems like if people who accumulate in one area, do it in others, too.  Lots of clothing to go to Goodwill or Salvation Army and have to try to persuade David to part with things, too.  Just want to reclaim space and use it for something besides storage!  When I finish with the upstairs sewing room, I am going to turn it into a small den or reading/relaxing room--I will paint the walls a warmer color than the white that is in there now.  A nice carpet, a rocker/recliner, table with lamp, small desk, and computer with quilty wallhangings decorating my walls!  YES!!!  Oh, can't forget a bookcase--out with the large one in there now and in with a small one that will hold my best beloved books for easy access!  I am inspired to stop now and cull through more quilt books to send to a new home!
