The Day After

Here we are the day after Christmas!  It was a very quiet day yesterday, but a good day. 

We are getting an unexpected late Christmas present.  Our little TV went out Christmas Eve - it had a vcr built into it, and we were going to watch "It's A Wonderful Life", when the poor little thing snorted it's last!!!  It had been popping and cracking for a couple of days, and guess that should have warned us. 

Mind you, this was sitting atop an older, console TV that had gone out several years ago.  We had never moved that one out because it was too heavy for us and we haven't had any help, or the time to try to get help didn't seem quite right, etc., etc.  Probably part of it was just dreading the change--which is so silly!!! 

Anyway, I was telling my sister about our problem and we have a couple of nephews who are here for the Christmas holiday, and they volunteered to come and move the old TV for us!  So we have cleaned it off, moved it over by the door as much as we could by sliding it on cardboard.

I have cleaned off my favorite sewing cabinet that I couldn't take downstairs with me when I moved a couple of years ago, and we are going to use it as our place to sit a new TV. Fortunately, it has rollers so will be easy to move around when we need to clean behind it. I'm not sure if we will go and get a TV today or not. David doesn't like to 'rush' into anything--although he is the one that mostly misses the TV--I don't watch much, but when I want to see weather or news, or occasionally something else, it's very inconvenient not to have!  So we will see what the rest of the day brings!
